What you will need to replace the cracker.

 

 

Cut the fall to the size you need, then cut the end of the fall at an angle.

 

 

  Enlarge the looped end in the cracker.       

 

Slide the cracker on to the fall about an inch.

 

 

Form a loop with the cracker.

 

 

Thread the end of the cracker through the loop you just formed.

                              

 

Pull the end of the cracker tight to secure the cracker take the whip out and crack it to set the knot and your done.

The tools I recommend to replace the fall, they include an awl, lacing fid, blunt nose pliers and a razor blade.

 

Slip the fall hitch and old fall through the eye of the new fall and slide the new fall up about 6' on point of the whip.

 

Slip the lacing fid under the eye of the old fall to protect the point of the whip from the razor blade. Use the razor blade to cut the eye of the old fall in half above the lacing fid. Pull the old fall out of the fall hitch away from the point of the whip.

 

Insert the awl in the opening of the fall hitches as shone to enlarge the opening and prepare a channel for the new fall to be inserted through. Remove the awl in preparation for insertion of the tip of the new fall.

 

Insert the tip of the new fall in the channel enlarged by the awl by hand and push the tip of the new fall through until you can grab it with the blunt nosed pliers. Use the blunt nose pliers to pull the new fall through about half its length.

 

Apply leather dressing to the remaining length of the new fall that has not been pulled through. After applying the leather dressing pull the fall through until the eye of the new fall is flush with the fall hitch.

 

The completed fall installation should look like this with the new fall snug to the fall hitch and your done.

 

What you will need to replace the cracker the Para cord is the fall of the whip where the old cracker used to be.

Use the scissors to cut off the old cracker at its attachment to the end of the fall just cut the cracker string.  If absolutely necessary you can cut the end of the fall off just ahead of cracker this is not recommended because it will shorten the fall. This step only applies if the cracker is still on the fall.

                            

Cut the end of the fall at a slant with the scissors.

Enlarge the hole in the looped end of the cracker.

Thread the cut fall end through the enlarged end of the crackerc.

Loop the end of the fall around the cracker and then under the fall below the enlarged loop in the cracker.

Pull the cracker tight just like tightening a knot pull it as tight as you can.

It will look like this when tight leave a little fall sticking out about 1/2 of an inch. Now take the whip out and crack it a couple of times to set the knot and you’re done.

 

 

The tools you will need to install the cracker. They include awl, or ice pick large lacing needle, needle nose pliers and lighter.

 

Cut the end of the nylon fall you need a clean cut end.

Use the lighter to melt the end of the nylon fall together sealing it.

Use the fid or ice pick to pierce the end of the fall below the melted area. This hole needs to be large enough to pass the cracker through.

Pass the looped end of the new cracker in through the eye of the large lacing needle.

This is the enlarged hole in the fall.

Insert the large lacing needle in to the hole in the fall.

Use the needle nose pliers to pull the large lacing needle through the hole in the fall.

Use the awl to enlarge the loop in the end of the cracker.

Thread the loose ends of the cracker though the eye of the large lacing needle.

Remove the awl from the looped end of the cracker wile inserting the large lacing needle in to the looped end of the cracker.

Pull the large lacing needle through the looped end of the cracker.

Now pull the loop you just made in the cracker tight around the fall, this completes the cracker installation.
